PROGRAM LEVEL

The program composes of eight semesters, full-time. It is taught in Arabic, with a few courses taught in English. The program was developed to serve the needs of the labor market in preparing qualified legal graduates who are self-motivated, capable of research and dealing with new technologies, and are equipped with critical thinking skills.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Bachelor in Law degree is granted by the college of law to students who complete the required courses according to the academic plan. The plan is arranged to achieve a balance between courses of private law department and public law department. Hence, throughout the period of their study, students will be taking subjects from both departments.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

The program seeks to achieve the following objectives:

1. Effectively addressing the legal issues in society by proposing appropriate solutions and competing strongly in the job market to contribute to development and progress.
2. Enhancing scientific research and legal studies to produce high-quality legal research that meets rigorous academic standards and serves the community.
3. Developing analytical, reasoning, and critical thinking skills to qualify graduates for postgraduate studies and continuous professional education.
4. Positively contributing to society through legal practice in accordance with standards of responsibility, integrity, and professional ethics..
5. Promoting national values and citizenship by embedding a culture of human rights and fundamental freedoms in Bahraini society and fostering connections with legislative and judicial institutions.

STUDENT ENROLLMENT

Terms of Admission:

  1. To be admitted to the program, applicants must hold a high school diploma or its equivalent with a minimum cumulative GPA of 85%, subject to competitive selection based on the available seats announced annually.
  2. Have graduated within the past two academic years (no more than two years since obtaining their high school diploma).
  3. Demonstrate good conduct and behavior.

Additionally, applicants must meet the general requirements outlined in the university’s academic regulations and any further decisions issued by the University Council regarding admissions.

 GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

To graduate from the program, students must:

  1. Successfully complete all required courses, totaling 132 credit hours, within the maximum time frame specified in the university’s regulations.
  2. Achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 out of 4.00.
  3. Achieve a minimum major specialized GPA of 2.00 out of 4.00 in major-related courses identified with the “LAW” code as outlined in the program’s curriculum.
  4. Fulfill any additional requirements outlined in the university’s study and examination regulations.

For the associate degree certificate:

Student who chooses not to continue with the program or face circumstances preventing completion may be awarded an Associate Degree, provided they:

  • Submit a formal written request to the relevant authorities.
  • Meet the conditions outlined in Article (76), paragraph 2 of the university’s Study and Examination Regulations, regarding the minimum required credit hours and GPA for awarding the degree.
